Background John grew up in the Washington, D.C. area; graduated from Maryland University; and served in the U. S. Marine Corps, working on military information systems. John’s wife Barbara is a registered nurse who worked for Georgetown University Hospital, and is now a public health nurse in Delaware. Business Experience After military service John worked for RCA information systems before joining the federal government. As an information technology professional John designed and developed various federal data systems, and completed his federal career with the Consumer Product Safety Commission. During his federal service John received many awards including a Distinguished Service Award, several Meritorious Service Awards, the CPSC Chairman’s Award, an Office of Management and Budget Financial Services Award, and the prestigious Vice-Presidential “Hammer Award” for his contributions. Affiliations John participated in public service organizations as treasurer for a National Health Association, volunteer at Shepherds’ Table, school board member for Holy Cross, and basketball coach for Maryland youth. John is currently an instructor with the University of Delaware’s Academy of Life-Long Learning.
